DAY 01: CUSCO – WAYLLABAMBA We will pick you up early from your hotels to get to the bus station, where we will board the bus to km 82, which takes around 3 hrs. We will enjoy our breakfast along the way. We will walk about 2-3 hrs before lunch. And then continue walking on as we pass the village of Wayllabamba for our first camping (3000mtrs) there will be a superb view of The Mountain Veronica, and platform overlooking the Incan site Llactapata. Approximantly 14km walking - 6 hours.

DAY 02: WAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYO On the second day you can hire a porter from the village of Wayllabamba to carry your pack to the top of the pass. Will cost approximately 50 soles. This is the most difficult day because you must walk from about 3000 metors to 4200 metros, (to Dead Woman’s Pass). You can walk at your own passé, and feel free to stop to get your breath whenever you like. You’ll find your energy returns once you continue down to the valley of Pacaymayo Camp site 3600mtrs. This is the coldest of all of the nights. Approximately 12km walking - 7 hour.

DAY 03: PACAYMAYO – WIÑAYWAYNA The ruins here are absolutely spectacular when combined with the amazing paved trail the Incas made. There are about 2000 stairs descending from Phuyupatamarca to Winaywayna, so if you haven’t had knee problems in the past, you probably will after this! If you have had knee injuries; an extra porter is recommended so that you are not carrying extra weight that will overstress your joints. A guided tour of the ruins and camping on the third night happen at Wiñaywayna (2700mtrs). The only hot shower on The Inca trail is on this third night at Wiñaywayna. There is a hostel near the campsite with an 8-minute hot shower for 5 soles and a bar and restaurant where you can also purchase bottled water.Approximately 16km walking - 6 hours.
DAY 04: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHU PICCHU On the fourth and last day we get up early and leave Wiñaywayna, a hour later and we make the climb to Inti Punku or The Sun Gate. This will take an hour of hiking along a trail of flat stones on the edges of cliffs in highland jungle. From this fabulous spot, we may see the sunrise over the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu. From Inti Punku we descend into Machu Picchu, about 40 minutes later we enter from the highest point through the ¨House of the Guardians¨. We then descend to the control point where we register ourselves and leave our backpacks. We immediately begin a complete guided tour of Machu Picchu that will be around two hours. Fallowed by some free time to walk around, climb the Huaynapicchu Mountain, where one can experience spectacular views of all of Machu Picchu, along with the valleys and mountains that surround it. Or visit The Temple of the Moon and the fabulous Inca Bridge. In the afternoon, we meet in the town of Aguas Calientes where, if you like, you can visit and relax in the thermal baths. From here we take the train to Cusco, where we will arrive in the night. Train will return to Cusco around 4.30PM with transfer back to Main Plaza arriving about 9PM. There are a number of different trains that run and so the return time depends on what tickets are available at the time of purchase for the group.
